For the record, my scanner is terrible with color. that's why i don't do it that often. even with my new watercolor pencils (which i am falling in love with btw)

one of the characters in an animated movie pitch i am developing (whose title flips between 'Lris' and 'Tribes of Ice' until something that people can pronounce / sounds less stupid pops up, i'm open to suggestions). No, despite the obvious resemblance it is not stolen from 'Wyit and Sidna' by Reagan Lodge.

The pet of main character Lris, he is roughly analogous to the mice in cinderella / the thief in Thief and the Cobbler (the RECOBBLED, GOOD version) / Scrat from those godawful ice age flicks. He functions as cuteness / comic relief / chuck jones sidestory stuff / important plot device in several cases.
What do you need to know about him? Well, you know how ferrets move on ones and have that way of darting with the cocked head? he moves like that. Plus, he is an insanely ballsy little snowsquirrel. And the only thing you need to know about his motivation? he's a kleptomaniac. Like feathers McGraw. It's kinda there for merchandising shield and partly for 'distract people from the seriousness and brainwork of the main plot.'

Based in action primarily on the squirrels we have here in chicago - super thin, super fast, super suspicious, and you get the sense they want to mug you every time you carry something shiny. XD (according to google image search everywhere else the squirrels are fucking OBESE compared to ours.) And no, Christopher Paul Curtis got it wrong, in Michigan they're just as thin.

I am a little worried he looks like Toothless, given his head shape, eye placement, tail movement, and those little ear things, but i'm not sweating it...right?
