I had some free time with a tablet a few weeks back, and decided to try my hand at Serene Wyatt's technique - then decided to put a flat-color drawing of some of her characters in front to see how it'd look as a cel setup.
Literally shat out in a half-hour, but I like the effect.

kind of odd to have a cat with a bunch of dogs, but i can the humor come into play : P The colors look good and shows how bright white the dog is and the forest in the back like a tangled mess.

We're throwing ideas out for the characters - the one I lean towards now is that the cat feels herself obviously mentally superior to the dogs, but not in an aristocratic fashion, rather that she finds it trying and excruciating to interact with such feeble minds. As in, like me, perpetually exasperated at trying to explain the obvious to the stupid. So, she lets off steam by spreading rumors and general cuntishness and being all entitled. The howdah idea I just loved - she wants to explore with them without any of that pesky 'exercise' bullshit (and it is bullshit), and this dog is the only one both large and spineless enough to be the mount to her mahoud. Like Wagner, she expects the world to support her for her mind. Mean nerd.
(He, for the record, is a simple soul whose fondest dream is to herd sheep. A hakuna matata Hori Mahato.)

You oughtta check out her stuff

- she does these beautiful rich neutral backgrounds astonishingly well, but disparages her color sense. Bull to that, she has better taste than 90% of this whole site.
These colors disappoint me, I must say.
